Sunday night, millions of people (hopefully) sat down and watched Oprah interview the Kardashians on Next Chapter. Many people speculated that Oprah did this solely for the ratings. But, the interview left us feeling that there was a deeper intent involved, particularly because of the probing questions.

Oprah sat down with the four Kardashian siblings Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Rob to discuss what being famous means to them, and how their father would react to their lives now. I was shocked at a few of their answers, but who am I to judge. I can honestly say I believe Kim is a fame whore, but maybe they don’t seek it out as much as we all believe. And I haven’t heard them ever call themselves celebrities, as they pointed out during the interview.

The interview proceeded with a discussion about Kim’s infamous 72-day marriage, and if it was all for the sake of publicity and gifts. Kim explained that once she was married, she realized she didn’t want to be with Kris Humphries – something that she should’ve decided before walking down the aisle. Kim claims that she loves hard, and I pointed out that she makes herself love hard. So hard that she’ll ignore all signs of distress just to be in a relationship. But whatever.

Even though I can’t stand some of them at some points in time, I have to respect that Kardashian hustle. Kris Jenner made her family relevant enough to be the top reality TV stars in television and relevant enough to be interviewed by Oprah. I’ll admit to my hateration. I would so get like them, just not in their way (i.e., having sex with Ray J.) But that’s neither here nor there.
