While I was on Facebook, I came across a MissJia.com link to a Lil Scrappy post where he spoke with TMZ about Frank Ocean coming out. Now child, I was so with him until he said VERBATIM, “As for the coming out gay, I’m glad that he came out so all the real women that love to mess with real men, the straight men. We can keep the AIDS situation down. You feel me? [giggles]” The expression on Harvey and the guy with the dreads faces were priceless. I was so thrown myself, and I’m sure Harvey was too since he happens to be gay.

Harvey: I think what you’re saying is that gay men all have AIDS.

Scrappy: Nawl, nawl, nawl, it’s like a doorway for it. You feel me?

Harvey: That gay is a gateway to AIDS.

Scrappy: Definitely. Scientifically. Not from my mouth, this scientifically.

*blank stares*

 

I know Lil Scrappy may not be the brightest crayon in the box, but his ignorance just showed ten fold. This is exactly what I was trying to get at in my post Why Is Gay Still An Issue?. People have so many preconceived misconceptions about the homosexual community. The fact that gay is the gateway to AIDS is entirely ridiculous. Gay men don’t infect straight women with AIDS. I don’t know the specific label that does, but I know it’s not gay men. And that would imply that straight people can’t have AIDS on their own if it wasn’t for having sex with gay men. Why can’t another straight person pass it to another straight person without EVER having to deal with someone gay? It’s sad people don’t understand that.

Lil Scrappy also perpetuated the intolerance within the rap community that makes people like Frank have to remain in the closet to have a successful career. It can also be the result of race, but that a whole different post or video I may get into later.

Lil Scrappy just lost my respect and lust for him. I hate when someone’s mouth ruins their sexy. I swear I wish some dumb people would have just been born mute to make the world easier. Alas.
