After what seems like months of waiting – and actually might have been – Brandy has finally released the video for Put It Down featuring Chris Brown. Now, I know I stated once before that I didn’t really like the song, but it grew on me, and I knew it had potential of doing well. But the video left me wanting more.

I just don’t feel as though the premise totally satisfied the lyrics. But the premise actually could’ve done very well if the dancing was on point, or if there was more. I mean, with the lyrics and beat they could’ve really gone in with a nice production.

One thing I did like, though, were all the pretty colors. I’m a sucker for a few splashes of color here and there. And Chris Brown even worked at turning me on a little and I don’t even find him attractive. Way to go.

All in all, this video is just another example of what these artists are doing wrong. Ever since I’ve returned home from school, I’ve been hearing Put It Down on the radio a lot (but not as much as Where Have You Been….) Although her music was out there, I didn’t see Brandy doing anything with it. Like, she just “put it down” on the table then got up and left to go get her box braids done. Then after delaying her project, she finally released the video with almost no hype around it.

I don’t want to sound like I’m bashing the girl, but you have to understand my point. It’s like Ciara, who just released her third single yet the first two are still on the floor. Like… where are you?
