NEW WEB SERIES: ‘Girl Play’
My blogging buddy Aryka – creator of TheFabFemme.com – is doing something really exciting. She has created a new web series, Girl Play, which focuses on the lives of a group of lesbian women in New Orleans. The show depicts itself as a cross between The L Word and Sex And The City, so if you like either, be sure to check it out.
The show promises to “end common lesbian stereotypes and showcase diversity among feminine lesbian women, as well as initiate dialogue on hot topics in the LGBT community such as femme invisibility and gay marriage.”
Olivia Black and her group of gal pals in New Orleans have had a turbulent time attempting to form successful relationships while maintaining careers and independence. Girl Play tells a story of four feminine lesbian women who are searching for true love in the ‘Big Easy’. Each character will take viewers on a journey they can relate to highlighting stories of lesbian love, deceit, political hardships, and self-acceptance. Take a walk in their shoes and see the world through the eyes of a femme. Laugh, smile and cry with the ladies of Girl Play. Bienvenue!
Check out the promo video after the jump. The series launches this February at YouTube.com/GirlPlayTV, and I’ll post any bonus features up until that time. Be sure to follow their twitter and give my girl Aryka a shout out over at her site and @TheFabFemme.
