President Obama Celebrates Pride Month

While perusing RonaldMatters.com I came across this video of President Obama continuing his support of LGBT Americans by encouraging the community with this video on Pride Month. My president/uncle is so awesome. He continues to amaze me and others, and his actions will hopefully work in his favor.

Ever since his declaration of supporting the LGBT community, other prominent, black individuals have also come out, so to speak. Jay-Z and T.I. have both been recorded giving their support, something I wouldn’t image a rapper ever doing.

Check out the video of Obama promoting courage within the community after the jump. And have a happy Pride Month everyone. What will you be doing to celebrate?

Peter Rosenberg Says He’ll Never Apologize to Nicki Minaj

Well, the person who is this cause of all of this, Peter Rosenberg, has finally spoken out about dissing Nicki Minaj before her summer jam set. If you don’t recall what Rosenberg said check out the post detailing the entire Summer Jam debacle.

During a radio broadcast, Rosenberg stated that he would never apologize to Nicki Minaj or Young Money because they pulled out. But sir….. whatever.

“[Starships] represents the opposite of real hip hop… Why would I apologize?… I understand why she’d feel it wasn’t the greatest time to say it. I’m a be honest, though, I didn’t plan. It’s always on my mind because that song makes me mad.”

Listen… he could be all up in arms about the song, but he was totally unprofessional. Someone pointed out that Rosenberg was wrong for stating his disdain for Starships as a REPRESENTATIVE for Hot 97 who booked Nicki for their concert. HELLO. But yes, Nicki should’ve called you instead of punk ass Flex.

Check out the video after the jump and post your thoughts. I’m about to be so over this.

Nicki Minaj Talks to The Breakfast Club

Nicki Minaj sat down with The Breakfast Club this morning to further discuss the shade she received before her Summer Jam set. You think this would be squashed (or the right person would have been addressed) after she adjusted Funkmaster Flex’s lacefront last night during their phone call. Speaking of, peep this tweet that killed me. Man.

Anyway… Nicki told The Breakfast Club that she would’ve never performed Starships in the first place, which I knew already. Starships is not for that crowd. The girl ain’t stupid.

“After all of this has been said and done, I wasn’t going to do Starships. And I think people know that. I’m way smarted than that. I know what people wanted to see. I think it was just someone trying to be sarcastic…. It was horrible timing. It was in bad taste. Everybody makes mistakes, but you got to own your mistakes…. That’s the problem.”

Charlamagne brought up the fact that Lil Wanye pulled out all of Young Money instead of just taking Nicki out. I guess @Brookandthecity was right when she said, loyalty is vintage. Nicki mentioned Lauryn Hill’s statement about the event being taken too far, then all of the other artists that had something to say.

The interview proceeded with the discussion about Foxy and how their connection was so out of the blue. Only because Lil Kim said Nicki was copying her after taking a pic with Missy Elliot and Eve, but okay.

Then, they talked about an apparent funeral scene that Nicki was going to do to represent Kim. Goodness, rumors are deadly. Then Nicki had to go and call Kim irrelevant. Goodness.

I don’t even want you to finish that sentence because That’s not even in my character and that’s ridiculous. Let’s stop with all the rumors that are giving people false hope that they’re relevant. Please. I’m not about to come on my stage and bring death on my stage. I’m thinking about life and love and thats it. We’re just bigging up each other. Nobody that’s irrelevant would’ve become relevant on my stage.

I love that The Breakfast Club brought up the issue about Nicki using the female card. This was a good interview, but I still want her to talk to Peter Rosenberg since he said that he would never apologize to her.

Nicki Minaj Addresses Summer Jam Issue with Funkmaster Flex

Nicki Minaj held her owned during the interview she had with Funkmaster Flex of Hot 97 about her cancelation during Summer Jam. I want to say from jump that I, in no way, stan for Nicki Minaj, but, she rocked during that interview, and that’s the only reason I may sound like I’m on her side. Flex’s voice was cracking the entire time, and he sounded like he was too in his feelings, when there was no personal attack against him. But, dah well.

During the interview, several issues were touched on. Maybe not the most significant, but they tried. There are some things I will address, though. Here it is:

1) Nicki, pulling the “I’m a female card” in 2012 sets women back some decades. You can’t be in a male dominated industry and when things get rough go, “hey, hol’ up. I’m a girl. Don’t forget.” Particularly, when ya boy Drake said some things about Kim that you okayed. But, I digress.

2) The real issue was obviously with what Rosenberg had to say. But, alas, he wasn’t even involved in the phone call. So, to be truthfully honest, the whole thing was pointless.

3) Flex, please stop with the crocodile tears. I was astounded when you said you felt “disrespected” when Young Money pulled out. Umm… they were disrespected first! But, okay. I guess you got that one. Ya nose stayed in her cooch the whole interview, though. All that hype stuff you said dissing Nicki was negated like hell during this phone call. I’m just saying.

4) Why book someone when you don’t like them? When Nicki made that point I clapped. It made so much sense.

5) At the end of the day, it’s about the fans. Yes Nicki, you were disrespected, but your fans were let down. You should’ve still done it, and came at everyone’s neck who dissed you during the performance on some real boss shit. But, alas…

That’s just my little two cents. You know I always have to add it. Check out the interview courtesy of Miss Jia after the jump. Nicki also plans to make it up to her fans by doing a free show in NYC. Go ‘head girl. Please weigh in. I want to hear everything you have to say.

NEW MUSIC: Ciara FT. 2 Chainz, ‘Sweat’

Just like she promised, Ciara just dropped her new track, Sweat, from her upcoming album, One Woman Army. The album art is very lackluster. She got dressed in some Forever 21 fashions and #Loubitons and took a pic with an instagram filter. Girl.

Listening to this song… yeah, it doesn’t sound like anything new. Ciara, apparently, put her heart and soul into this album, but with this first single, she’s not even trying. But, I still wish the best for her. I’m sure she’ll come out with a killer vid with major moves. Just as long as she leaves the matrix home.

Check out the track after the jump and post your thoughts.

Lauryn Hill Tweets Statement about Nicki’s Summer Jam Set

Ever since Nicki Minaj’s debacle with Hot 97′s Summer Jam yesterday, everyone has been talking. Lauryn Hill took to her Twitter to “clear up an inaccuracy” about the claims that she was to perform during Nicki Minaj’s set. Here’s what she had to say:

No disrespect to Nicki, but I need to clear up an inaccuracy. I was not scheduled to be a special guest on her set at Summer Jam, I was invited by Nas to perform with him. I don’t have details on exactly what transpired between the station and the artists, but I do support artists standing by their beliefs, and walking with integrity. We have to find a better way to commercially exploit music, while giving artists their proper respect. This cannot be done while taking their contributions for granted, or trying to control the scope of their growth and power through threats and fear tactics. We can do better than this, there is a better way, or else ‘we’ (the proverbial we) find ourselves in danger of being hypocrites!!!

Ms. Lauryn Hill

Welp. Ms. Lauryn Hill has spoken, and it almost sounds like she’s against the terrible actions that transpired yesterday. What say you?

Peep the performance of her doing a few verses from Ready or Not and Lost Ones before doing If I Ruled The World with Nas after the jump.

Beyonce “Live at Revel” Trailer

The Beyonce Live at Revel trailer was uploaded a few days ago to the BeyHive app. I’m not sure if this confirms that there will be a DVD, but my peers who went to the concert did say there were cameras everywhere. I can’t wait to learn all the choreography this summer.

Brian McKnight Shades Chris Brown & Chris Lashes Back

If you weren’t aware, Brian McKnight tried his hand at relevancy when he featured a song, If You’re Ready to Learn, that described the working of the female genitalia. Yes, a song devoted to lessons on how a vagina works during sex. Girl.

A few days ago, he released another song that took it one step further about the wonders of anal sex as a promotional song for You Porn. I guess no one else wanted to give him money for his tracks. If Mary can do a jingle about crispy chicken, I’m sure Brian could’ve done one about purple grape drank.

This cry for attention out from under the rock he was staying in, caused a lot of people to comment heavily, and Brian was not having that. He took to Twitter to make sure you guys and girls would respect his pussy and anal sex music, knowing darn well y’all partake in both.

Well, Chris Brown didn’t take too kindly to the shade. We all know she’s still a little sensitive about that Rihanna situation, and will drag anyone (including Robin Roberts) for bringing it up like it’s fresh and new.

I gagged at Chris for tweeting that gif. And that “welcome” to Brian for his 15 minutes. JESUS. She just too banjee for her own damn good.

I recently did a post asking if Chris will always be remembered and reprimanded for his incident with Rihanna, and this situation just proves that the answer may be, yes. It saddens me to know that Chris still hasn’t learned to shut up, and continues to lash out at the girls for trying to shift her wig. Chris needs to learn how to let these girls cook as she promotes her album. This is getting insane. It may be evident Chris and Kim both have the same publicist, because they always be on chill mode when either takes to Twitter.

Marques Houston Isn’t Here for Raz B’s Shit Either

Marques Houston sat down with Hot 97′s morning show to discuss Raz B’s recent excerpt from his upcoming book, This Boy’s Life. In it, he details the members of B2K and other artists like Chris Brown and Bow Wow as a bunch of homosexual bottoms that got tossed around by Chris Stokes and each other way back when. Raz B’s claims of Marques Houston being a pedophile himself even comes up in the interview, and Marques bashes all that with declarations of Raz being an “attention whore” specifically when Marques has a project coming out…..

It was a big joke to me. If you think about the time frames when this guy starts up. Its always around my album coming out, my album release, and now my movie release is coming out, so he is talking more.  But its all lies! It’s all BS…. He’s an attention whore. He wants that attention because B2K was huge and everybody knows how big B2K was. And when something like that is stripped from you, and you can’t get any fame you go to the extreme measures. And the dude is psycho.

You have to think about who he is mentioning. For one, I don’t even think Raz has ever met Chris Brown. Chris Brown and Raz B have no connection.  I know Omarion and Chris Brown are really cool but then he starts mentioning Bow Wow. It’s like, who hasn’t he mentioned? Is he going to mention that God did something to him next?

Marques continued on with Raz’s addiction to drugs and being unable to be in the same room as him because he’s so fake. It was a side eye moment when Marques mentioned the convenience of Raz’s claims always coming out when he had a project. Who remembers Marques‘ last album, and is this film hitting theaters everywhere?

I can honestly say that I agree that this is probably a big publicity stunt, because Raz does sound crazy and too many of the people he’s against is on the same side and pushing this under the rug. Or maybe they’d rather keep it under the rug for possible reasons. You never know.

Check out the interview after the jump and post your thoughts. And shout out to Miss Jia for that link back on her site. Girl, I see you.
